The prominent Islamic scholar, Ayatollah Sheikh Morteza Ansari

On18th of the Islamic month of Zil-Hijjah in 1214 AH, the prominent Islamic scholar, Ayatollah Sheikh Morteza Ansari, was born in Dezful, southwestern Iran.
Blessed with a sharp mind, he soon mastered the sciences of the day in the holy city of Najaf in Iraq, and at the age of 35 attained the status of Ijtehad. He presented dynamic ideas in theology and jurisprudence. One of the main features of his writings is simplicity of language and rational approach to problems on the basis of the ayahs of the holy Qur'an and the Hadith.
Two of his books "ar-Rasael" and "al-Makaseb" are taught till this day at seminaries in Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Bahrain and other places. He passed away in 1281 AH at the age of 67, after years of relentless efforts and grooming a large number of scholars.
