Surat An-Naşr (The Divine Support) - รรฆรร รรกรครร
The Sura e Nasr descended at Madina and it has 3 ayaat.
The contents and virtues of Sura e Nasr
This sura descended at Medina after the hijrat( Migration of the prophet of Allah peace be upon him from Mecca to Medina). It gives the glad tiding and good news of the great victory after which crowds and groups of the people entered the religion of Allah. Hence to thank this abundant blessing invites the great prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, to praise and admire the Almighty God and plead the Dominant God to pardon the sins.
Though numerous victories occurred in Islam but the triumph, with all the above specifications is not other than the conquest of Mecca. Particularly according to the Arabs who believed that if the messenger of Islam is capable to conquer the city of Mecca and became successful in holding its sovereignty then it will prove his truthfulness. And in the case if it is not true the Exalted God will not provide Islam the success. As the Almighty Allah did not allowed the powerful army of Abraha to acquire hold on Kaaba for that reason after the conquest of Mecca the polytheists of Mecca brought faith upon prophet Muhammad peace be upon him and entered in Islam in hoards and groups.
Some supposed, this sura descended after the victory of Mecca in the tenth year of Hijrath at the time of Hajjatul vida, it is far from the fact. As the contents of the sura are not according to the interpretations, for instance it is informing about a happening of the future not the past.
One of the names of this sura is Sura e Taudee that means to say Good bye as it is indicating the death of the prophet of Allah peace be upon him..
In a hadis it is narrated when the sura e Nasr descended the great prophet peace be upon him recited it for his companions, all of them got delighted and over joyed. But Abbas paternal uncle of prophet peace be upon him cried, the prophet pbuh enquired: O uncle why are you lamenting?
He replied: O prophet of Allah I think in this sura it is informed us about your death. The prophet pbuh replied: The matter is same as you mentioned.
From which part of the sura this matter is evident? Regarding this matter the interpreters discuss about it. As in the appearance of the sura nothing is mentioned except the victory and success.
The meaning of this sura apparently proves the prophecy of the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him had reached to its end. And his religion is totally accepted and it is evident in that condition sensing the death from the mortal world to the eternal realm can be completely predictable. About the virtues of this sura in a hadis by the great prophet of Islam it is described: The one who recites the sura e Nasr his status is similar to the person who accompanied the prophet pbuh at the occasion of the victory of Mecca.
In another narration by imam Sadiq alaihis salam we read: One who recites the sura a Nasr in the nafila namaz (supererogatory prayers) or obligatory namaz the Omnipotent God will bless him success upon all his enemies. On the judgment day he will enter with a letter in his hand which is speaking with him. The Benevolent God will raise him from his grave holding in his hand the document authorised to pass him safely from hell fire.
Unexpressed it is evident that all this honours and virtues is for that person who by reading the sura e Nasr established himself in the line of prophet of Islam and messenger of Allah peace be upon him and practiced upon his religion and traditions and he is not merely relied and satisfied on the jabbering of his tongue.

In these three short but high in content ayaat there is plentiful elaborate and intricate matters. If it is considered in it helps to understand its ultimate cause.
In the first ayat the term Nusrath (help) is added along with the name of Merciful God.
รครณรรบรรต รรกรกรธรณรฅรถ
In most of the ayat, this term is reflected such as in the ayat 214 of sura e Baqara as we read:
รฃรณรรณรฌ รครณรรบรรต รรกรกรธรฅรถ รรณรกร ร
รถรครธรณ รครณรรบรรณ รรกรกรธรฅรถ รรณรรถรญรรฑ (2:214)
"When is the help of Allah?" Oh, verily, the help of Allah is near.
In the ayat 126 of sura e Ale Imran and ayat 10 of sura e Anfal it is said:
รฆรณรฃรณร รรกรครธรณรรบรรต ร
รถรกรรธรณ รฃรถรครบ รรถรครรถ รรกรกรธรฅรถ ร
รถรครธรณ รรกรกรธรฅรณ รรณรรถรญรรฑ รรณรรถรญรฃรฑ (8:10)
And victory is not but from Allah. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.
It is indicating that any how the support and victory is by the will of the Trustful God.
It is true that to achieve the triumph upon enemy one have to get well prepared in the material and muscle power but a person who believes in One and Only God have complete faith in him that the help is only from the Compassionate God. For that reason at the hours of victory he does not get proud but thanks whole heartedly to his Benevolent God.
In this sura first stated about the divine help, after that success and victory then the spread and influence of Islam where the people enter in Islam in groups and multitudes. These three are the causes and effects upon each other. When there is not any divine support and backing then there is no triumph and conquest, and when the goal victory and conquest is not reached and the hurdles cannot be wiped out, the people will not accept the Islam in groups and flocks. And after these three stages as each and every of them is a blessing there is stage of thanking, glorifying and worshipping the Majestic God.
From other side the divine help and victory is entirely for the ultimate cause to amass the people in the religion of True God and the guidance of each and every one.
The term fatah here is revealed in absolute form and by the signs indicated previously; certainly it means the victory of Mecca which presented such a wide natural effect. Truly the triumph of Mecca is opened a new chapter in the history of Islam because the centre of polytheism was shattered and the idols were wiped out and all the hopes of idol worshippers were transformed into hopelessness and desperateness. The entire hurdles in the way of the belief were eradicated.
Therefore the victory of Mecca must be accepted as a stage of stabilization and establishment of Islam in the land of Arabian Peninsula and later in the entire world. Hence after the triumph over Mecca there was not any defence from the side of polytheists and unbelievers except occurred at one instance that too was suppressed rapidly. The people were arriving towards the threshold of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him from every point of the Arabian Peninsula to accept the Islam
On the bottom of ayat the three commands are issued (naturally to the entire Muslims). In fact it thanks for this remarkable victory and a proper expression of gratitude for the divine support.
รรรรญร
The above term means to remember the holiness of Allah who is uncontaminated in every way.
รรฃร
Is to define his perfections and excellent qualities
รรรรรรร
The above term means to seek forgiveness for the defects and the mistakes of the people and one self.
This wonderful triumph caused to wipe out the thoughts contaminated with polytheism. The beauty and perfection of the most High God gets more evident and those lost their way turn back towards the path of truth.
This bountiful victory caused the people not to think that the Guardian God never leaves his friends alone. (He is clean from this defect) and they must know that too the Almighty God is most powerful in fulfilling his promises. And he possesses the perfect qualities and the human beings express their disabilities before his greatness.
Other than this it is possible that at the time of victory the disagreeable expressions can appear in the man and he may began to feel proud and egoistic before the enemy or he wants to take revenge and satisfy his personal hostility. And instructs him these three guidelines that at the sensitive moments of victory to remember the beautiful and great qualities of the Benevolent God. And he must feel that everything is from Almighty and seek his forgiveness so that the proud and ignorance gets vanished from him. And cast him away from ignorance.
5 it is certain that the prophet of Islam peace be upon him is infallible like other prophets but why there is a command to seek his forgiveness before him?
In the response of this question we must tell that it is an pattern for the entire nation of Islam.
Firstly: in this entire widespread struggle which extended to many years almost twenty years and the Muslims went through very hard and painful period. Sometimes the incidents were happening complicated in such a manner that the life was getting hell for them and in the mind of certain among them, the evil thoughts about the divine promise began to appear in their minds. For example about the battle of Ahzab in the noble Quran it is mentioned: Al-Ahzab (The Associates)
and the hearts reached to the throats, and you were harboring doubts about Allah.
At the moment when the success had reached they will realize that those ill thoughts and their uneasiness were incorrect. And they are on the phase that they must seek forgiveness from Allah.
Secondly: the man as much as he praises the Great God still he is unable to fulfil the accurate gratitude towards his Provider God. Hence in the end of this admiration and appreciation he had to turn himself towards the divine doorway and seek forgiveness.
Thirdly: Generally after achieving the victory, the devilish temptation initiates to infuse in the man. The attitudes of pride from one side and from other side hot temper and revengefulness began to originates in him. Here one should remember the Mighty Creator and must constantly seek his forgiveness so that such attitudes must not appear in him. And in the case if it appeared it must get vanished.
Fourthly: In the start of sura as the victory is announced, almost it means the declaration of the end of prophetic mission and the expiration of the life of prophet peace be upon him and his haste to meet the beloved God. And this state is appropriate for the admiration and glorification of the Almighty Allah and seeking his forgiveness. Therefore it is revealed in the narrations that after the descent of this sura the great prophet peace be upon him was abundantly reciting this sentence: O Holy and Dominant God you are clean we praise and admire you, O All Hearing and All Seeing God forgive me as you are the most compassionate and generous.

The above term is mentioning the reason for asking forgiveness. Ask to pardon because the Sympathetic God is the kindest pardoner.
Possibly it is pointing towards the topic that when the Exalted and Gracious God accepted the pardon of the wrong doers. Then you too( O prophet peace be upon ) as far as possible accept the pardon of the wrong doers after achieving the victory. When you find there is no sign of the conspiracy is evident among them then do not expel them away. Hence we will see the great prophet Muhammad peace be upon him in the event of triumph over Mecca expressed in the best manner of kindness and gentleness before the defeated and vengeful enemies.
It was not only the magnanimous prophet of Islam peace be upon him at the time of achieving ultimate victory over the enemy glorified, admired and asked for forgiveness but in the history of the other prophets too this matter was clearly evident.
For example the prophet Yusuf (joseph) peace be upon him when he sat upon the throne of Egypt. His parents and brothers met him after a long period of separation, he stated: Yusuf (Joseph)

The points:
The conquest of Mecca was the biggest victory of Islam
The triumph over Mecca as it was indicated, opened a new chapter in the history of Islam and crushed down the resistance of enemy. In fact by the achievement of the conquest of Mecca, the polytheism and idol worshipping was pull into pieces and vanished in the Arabian Peninsula and got organized to take a leap into the other countries of the world.
In short this happening was such that: after the compromise of the Hudaibia the idolaters of Mecca began to violate the treaty and ignore the peace pact. And began to pressurise some of the associates of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him and the associates complained to the prophet peace be upon him. The prophet of Allah decided to help his associates.
From other side every possible situation was created for pulling apart the polytheism, idol worshipping and hypocrisy which was created in Mecca. It was the task which had to be completed at any situation. Hence the prophet peace be upon him by the command of Allah prepared himself to move towards Mecca.
The victory of Mecca completed in three phases.
First the stage of the preparing the initiations that is to bring together the needed man power and to select the appropriate time, to collect the sufficient information from the circumstances of the enemy, their physical strength and determination.
The second stage is the step of exhibiting the most of the perfection which must have least victory damages. And finally it is the last stage which is the consequences and the effects of the war.
1- This stage was accomplished in a very approved and elegant manner. Specifically the prophet of Allah peace be upon him in such a mode occupied the road of Mecca and Medina that not a little bit of information of this great preparation reached the people of Mecca. Therefore they did not turn towards the preparation of war. They completely got surprised.. This matter was the cause to halt the bloodshed in a big way on the attack upon the holy land.
Even one Muslim of weak faith named Hathib bin Abi Baltha who wrote a letter to Quraish and gave it to the woman named Kafud or Sara belonged to the Mazina tribe and send it secretly towards Mecca, this information got evident to the prophet peace be upon him miraculously and he send Ali alihis salam with some of his companions hurriedly towards that woman. They found her at a junction between Mecca and Medina and took the letter from her and returned her back to Medina.
Any way the great prophet of Islam peace be upon him appointed his successor in the city of Medina, on the tenth of the month of Ramzan, the eigth year of his migration โHijratโ and moved towards the Mecca. He reached after ten days.
The prophet peace be upon in his mid-way met his paternal uncle Abbas coming to him as a migrant. His Excellency the great prophet peace be upon him told Abbas: send your luggage to Medina and come along with us and you are the last migrant.
2- At last the Muslims reached the vicinity of Mecca and outside the city in the deserts around in a place named Marrazahran they camped which was at the distance of a few kilometers away from Mecca. And in the darkness of night they ignited a lot fire to cook the food (may be to proof their presence in a far and wide range) in that place. A group of the people of Mecca got tremendously amazed sighting this view.
The information of the prophetโs peace be upon him movement and his army was still concealed upon the Quraish. At that night Abu Sufyan and the other chieftain of Mecca and some of the heads of polytheists to take the information came out of the Mecca. In these hours Abbas, the paternal uncle of prophet peace be upon him supposed that if the prophet of God peace be upon him entered Mecca furiously nobody will be left alive. He took permission from the prophet of Allah peace be upon him and mounted upon the horse of the prophet peace be upon him and said: I will go and meet somebody and tell him to inform the people of Mecca about the happening so that they approach the prophet peace be upon him and seek the security and safety from him.
Abbas started and while reaching in his way near the Mecca heard the voice e of Abu Sufyan who was telling to one his friend named Badeel: I never saw such a huge fire so far. Badeel replied: I think these fires belong to the tribe of Khazaeh. Abu Sufyan replied: The tribe of Kazae is very impoverished they are unable to light such an enormous fire.
Here Abbas called Abu Sufyan, he recognized Abbas and asked him: what is the news?
Abbas replied: He is the prophet of Allah peace be upon him with ten thousand army of Islam carrived in pursuit of you. Abu Sufyan got extremely panicked and said: Then what is the solution you propose to me?
Abbas replied: Come with me and seek refuge and safety before the prophet of Allah peace be upon him, else you will be killed.
Thus Abbas along with Abu Sufyan mounted on the horse of prophet peace be upon him that he lent from the messenger of Allah pbuh and swiftly returned back to prophet peace be upon him. Whenever they were passing from any group and fire kindled there, those people were pointing them telling and stating: This is the paternal uncle of Prophet Peace be upon him who is galloping upon the horse. He is not an Alien. Till they reached the spot where Umar Ibn Khattab was there, When Omar saw Abu Sufyan he said: Thanks God that he dominated me upon you. As you have no security of life. Soon he came to the prophet of Allah peace be upon him and wanted permission to behead the Abu Sufyan.
But just then Abbas reached there and said: O prophet of Allah I had provided him the refuge.
The great prophet peace be upon him said: At present I too grant him refuge and safety till tomorrow when you bring him here before me.
The next day when Abbas brought him to the prophet of Allah pbuh, the great messenger pbuh said: Woe upon you O Abu Sufyan, does not it is the right time for you to bring faith upon the Unique and Exalted God?
He replied: Yes, may my parents be sacrificed upon you. I give witness that the God is one and unique and have no match and if the idols were able to do something for me I would not have to face such hard days.
The prophet peace be upon him said: does not it reached the right time for you to know that I am the messenger of God? He replied: May my parents be sacrificed upon you, still there exists doubts and uncertainties in my heart but finally Abu Sufyan and two of his companions converted to Islam.
The great prophet peace be upon him expressed to Abbas: TakeAbu Sufyan along with you to the narrow foothill where the army of Allah is passing by, so that he is able to watch them.
Abbas said: Abu Sufyan is the pompous person; he needs to provide him some distinctions. The prophet favourd him and said: anybody who enters the house of Abu Sufyan he is secure. The one who take refuge in Masjid Haram, he is safe and the people who remained at home and close their doors they too are safe and secure.
Any way when Abu Sufyan viewed the enormous army of Islam he became certain that he is helpless to fight the enemy, he turned towards Abbas and said: The kingdom of your nephew had increased greatly.
Abbas replied: Woe upon you, it is not a kingdom it is prophecy.
Then Abbas told him: Hurry up and swiftly proceed towards the people of Mecca and warn them about the attack of the Muslim army.
Abu Sufyan entered the Masjid Haram and shouted: O people of Quraish! Muhammad with multitudes of army came to attack you and you do not have the power to fight with them.
Then he added: Anybody who enters my house he is safe and secure and the one take refuge in Masjid Haram he too is in security.
Once again he yelled: O Masses of Quraish bring faith in Islam to get protected. His wife โHindโ caught his beard and screamed: Kill this insane old man.
Abu Sufyan said: Leave me; By God if you do not bring faith in Islam today you too will be killed go inside the house soon and close the door.
At that moment the great prophet peace be upon him by the parade of his Islamic army proceeded and reached the location of Zee Tuva from where the entire houses of Mecca city were apparent.
The prophet of Islam peace be upon him remembered that day when he left secretly the city of Mecca by compulsion and now he came across the day where he is entering the Mecca with such a magnitude. Hence he put his sacred forehead on the top of the camelโs saddle and performed the prostration of thanks.
Then the magnanimous prophet in Hujjun (one of the elevated place of Mecca where the holy grave of hazrat Khadija is situated there) demounted from the camel and performed his holy bath. And dressed himself in the uniform of war and equipped with the ammunitions, mounted upon his camel reciting the Sura e Nasr entered the Masjid e Haram and waved the slogan of Allah o Akbar. The army of Islam altogether gave the slogan of Takbeer (Allah o Akbar) in such a manner their voice filled the desert and the mountain.
At that moment he demounted from the camel and came towards the house of Kaaba and dismantled the idols one after another and reciting the ayat: Al-Isra (The Journey by Night)
รฆรณรรตรกรบ รรณรร รรกรบรรณรรธรต รฆรณรรณรฅรณรรณ รรกรบรรณรรรถรกรต ร

And say: The truth has come and the falsehood has vanished; surely falsehood is a vanishing (thing).
Here were many idols installed in the elevation of the Kaaba and the hands of prophet peace be upon him were not reaching them, he ordered amiral mominan Ali ( the commander of believers)to put his feet upon his sacred shoulders and go to the top and collapse down and break away the idols.
Then he took the keys of the house of Kaaba and opened the door and abolished the portraits of the prophets which were depicted on the interior walls of the house of Kaaba.
3- After that magnanimous and rapid victory, the prophet peace be upon him, caught hold the ring of the door of Kaaba and faced towards the people of Mecca who were gathered there and addressed them: What do you say and what do you suppose? What command shall I declare for you?
They replied: we expect from you the generosity and goodness only and you are our elder brother and the son of our elder brother and today as you reached to power, forgive us. Tears encircled the eyes of prophet and the weeping of the people of Mecca too rose up.
The great prophet said: I will only issue the command for you same as my brother prophet Yusuf (Joseph) passed and said:Today there is no scolding and reproach for you. The Merciful God is pardoning you all and he is the most sympathetic among all. Like this manner he forgave all and said: All of you are unrestricted and liberated, you may go where ever you like.
Meanwhile the prophet of Allah peace be upon him commanded his army not to disturb any body and they must not spill a drop of blood, As it is stated according to a narration, except six people who were the most vicious, dangerous and abusive individuals and they must be killed.
Even when he heard that โSaad bin Ibada โ the flag bearer of the army was roaring the slogan of revenge and yelling: Today in the day of revenge. The prophet peace be upon him told the Ali alaihis salam: hurry up and take the banner from that man and be the flag bearer of the army and give the slogan: Today is the day of forgiveness and pardon.
Like this manner the Mecca city was conquered without any bloodshed and adorned with the attraction of this Islamic pardon and forgiveness which they were not expecting from him , in such a mode it effected their hearts that the people came in groups and crowds and converted to Islam and the sound of this great victory circulated in the entire Arabian Peninsula and the fame of Islam overshadowed everywhere and the prestige of Islam and the Muslims was ascertained in every way.
In some pages of the history it is mentioned that the prophet peace be upon him approached near the door of house of Kaaba and said: There is no God except Allah, he is one, he is one. And finally fulfilled his promise and helped the servant of Allah (Muslim) and the great prophet peace be upon him single handedly broke down and defeated all the battles. O people be aware of any kind of wealth, status and blood which is related to the period of past ignorance. Every status and blood line is related to the previous era of unawareness and now it under my feet. (once gain do not express about the killing related to the period of ignorance or the plundered possessions as all the ranks linked to the period of ignorance got diminished , like this manner the entire files related to the past closed down.
This was a very important and mysterious a pattern which was publicly announced the pardon for each and every body of Hijaz (Arabian Peninsula) and disconnected them to their dark and adventurous past and bestowed them a new life in the shadow of Islam that was free from the skirmishes and clamors.
This accomplishment helped significantly in the progress of Islam and it is framework for our today and tomorrow.
O Powerful God! You have the supremacy to return us back to that bygone greatness in the shadow of the Islamic rules.
O God the Provider of every favor! Write our name among the true friends of the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.
O Exalted and Majestic God! Bless us the ability to spread the sovereignty of Islamic justice in such a mode that the people of the world accept it whole heartedly in the groups and crowds.
Ameen! O God the Provider of the whole universe
