Islamic Propagation and Relations Directorate

This directorate was established to propagate the Islamic sciences and high divine values. In addition to the extensive propagational activities in the general public it implements its plans for the education of the pilgrims of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (A.S.), who visit the sacred site in all the seasons of the year and in great numbers during the holiday sessions. This multifarious activities is carried out in such a way that the pilgrims during their leisure time learn to attain the religious gnosis and know better the great divine personality of Imam Reza (A.S.).
In this regard, books and booklets on Islamic sciences and traditional and authentic ways of paying homage and deep regard to the Holy Imam (A.S.) during this pious pilgrimage are published. Religious sermons and lecture sessions, congregational prayers and sessions for answering to the religious queries of the pilgrims are regularly conducted throughout the year in the premises of the holy shrine. The other programmes of this directorate is to contact the foreign pilgrims and provide them religious books, posters and pamphlets in different languages of the world and also conduct educational religious training gatherings for them.
The Holy Qur'an teaching institute affiliated to this directorate has conducted the Quranic recitation and exegesis classed at different levels in the holy places of the shrine as well as in different places in the holy city of Mashhad. Till now thousands of pilgrims in the holy shrine and the residents of this city has been acquainted with lofty and high meaning of the Holy Qur'an thorough these Quranic classes

The Cultural and Islamic Propagation Management
Its offices are located in the Gowharshad Mosque and Imam Khomeini (R.A.) Courtyards.It carries out various religious services like conducting the congregational prayers,lectures,group discussions,the Holy Qur'an teaching classes and the Holy Qur'an recitation ceremonies,Majaalis and sermons as well as the recitation of Dua i-Kumayl and Dua i-Nudbah.
According to the statements of the Chief of Astan Quds Razavi's Propagations Office , more than 210000 women have attended and taken part in 900 sessions of explaining religious injunctions , and delivering speeches on religious issues , during 7 months of year 2002 .
Mohammad Taqi Rezai said : " The religious questions of about one million people have been answered during the mentioned period . Nearly about one million pilgrims , referring to four Information Centers placed in the Holy Shrine , have received necessary information about the Holy Shrine . Furthermore , more than 120000 cultural products have been distributed among pilgrims during these seven months" .
He added : " During this period , more than 114000 girl students attended the special religious ceremonies held on the occasion of reaching appropriate age for fulfilling their religious obligations , at the Holy Shrine".
He also announced that about 186 meetings of commenting on the Holy Verses of the glorious Quran , and 700 sessions of reciting the glorious Quran , have been arranged and held at different prayer halls of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (A.S) .
He stated : " About 166 sessions of religious admonition and oration were arranged and held at the Holy Shrine for foreign pilgrims whose language was Arabic . Also , seminary and university professors attending 52 sessions in the Holy Shrine answered the religious questions of people" .
The Chief of Astan Quds Razavi's Islamic Propagations Office mentioned that about 444 movies on the subjects of pilgrimage etiquette , Holy Shrine's explosion ( an awful event , during which hypocrites exploded a bomb in the Holy Shrine , and many pilgrims were martyred ) and the Holy Burial Chamber's (Zarih) Dust – cleaning ceremony , have been shown to the pilgrims of the Holy shrine of Imam Reza (A.S), by this office .
